I was working on an AR project for another class. The theme is speculative future, so I chose to highlight technological advancements in genetics. For this project, I decided to create a "bioluminescent" plant with acrylic and light inspired by this one from the Avatar movie.
I know we weren't supposed to, but I fell in love with the laser cutter. It perfectly translated my illustration onto the acrylic. The hardest part of this project was using illustrator and figuring out how I wanted to shine the light through the piece of acrylic. If I were to work on this project again, I would try making the plant 3D and making the light base from scratch.
